Belarusian cuisine

Belarusian cooking is potato and pork, with mushrooms, soured cream and gravies made for dipping.

Potato is called the second bread here without irony: it becomes pancakes, dumplings, bakes, sausage and even babka.

Wild mushrooms are a store rather than a seasonal treat: dried ceps go into soups and gravies all year round.
