Business & Warehouse
Business and warehouse calculators
The full cost of an employee and of a meeting, inventory turnover and safety stock, invoices with VAT, pallet loading and volumetric weight.
These are the calculations that in a small company usually live in somebody's spreadsheet: what an employee really costs, how long stock sits, when to reorder, and what an invoice comes to after the discount and the tax.
The formulas are the standard ones — turnover, reorder point, cash conversion cycle, volumetric weight — gathered in one place with an explanation of where each number comes from.

FAQs
Why does an employee cost more than the salary?+
Contributions, benefits, a desk, hardware and software all sit on top. Together they usually make the real cost one and a half to two times the salary.
How does safety stock differ from ordinary stock?+
Ordinary stock covers average demand over the lead time. Safety stock covers the variation: both a spike in demand and a late delivery.
Why calculate the cost of a meeting?+
To see the price of an hour in a meeting room. A weekly meeting of six costs more over a year than it feels like, which is an argument for a short agenda.
Why is a light parcel charged like a heavy one?+
A carrier sells space in the vehicle, not kilograms. When the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight, the volumetric figure is what gets billed.
