Drinks from around the world

Teas, cultured milk drinks, infusions and drinks built on grain or fruit.

Some of these drinks are food: salted tea with butter and flour stands in for breakfast, and a grain-based cultured drink is closer to thin porridge than to lemonade.

Serving temperature matters here as much as the ingredients. A drink meant to be iced loses its whole point at room temperature, and the reverse holds too — each recipe says which it is.
