The most frequent words with their share of the text, the unique word count, and lexical diversity.

Frequency analysis shows what a text is really about rather than what it was meant to be about. If a keyword appears in every third sentence, the text reads like an advert — and search engines see that too.

A healthy share for any single word in a natural text is up to two or three percent. Five and above is stuffing, and such a page is unlikely to rank however useful its substance.

What to keep in mind

Inflected forms count separately; no lemmatisation is performed.
Minimum word length is adjustable so that articles and prepositions, which always top the list, can be filtered out.

FAQs

What keyword density is acceptable?

Two to three percent of total words. Above five is almost certainly stuffing. Modern search engines judge meaning rather than density, and stuffing now hurts more than it helps.

What is lexical diversity?

Unique words as a proportion of the total. Natural writing usually lands at 40 to 60 percent; much lower means repetition, much higher means a very short text or a list.

Why are inflected forms counted separately?

Reducing them to a base form needs a morphological dictionary. For spotting repetition it rarely matters: if one word dominates the list in several forms, that is the signal.

What are words that appear once?

They are called hapaxes. In natural writing they usually make up about half of all unique words — a marker of real language rather than template text.

A short repetitive text

Input: Three sentences where one word appears three times

Output: That word at 25 percent, diversity 75 percent

Note: Twenty-five percent is an artefact of a tiny sample. In a real article that share would be unmistakable stuffing.
